They defeated Linköping on the road 1–0, with Lukas Vejdemo scoring the lone goal at 12:48 of the second period. Goalkeeper Filip Larsson saved all shots from LHC, delivering a solid performance.
“We're playing really tight defense, fighting hard and believing in this,” Larsson told TV4 Play.
The team has been labeled in crisis since the start of the ice hockey season, but the last three SHL matches have yielded eight out of a maximum nine points. The gap to second-last HV71 and 12th-placed Örebro, who are above the relegation line, is now four points, though Leksand's goal difference remains worse.
This victory bolsters Leksand's chances of avoiding the bottom of the table.
