Philippine representative Myrna Esguerra secured fourth runner-up at the Miss International 2025 pageant held in Tokyo, Japan. Colombian model Catalina Duque Abréu was crowned the winner, with runners-up from Indonesia, Bolivia, and Zimbabwe also recognized. Esguerra impressed with confident performances in the swimsuit and evening gown segments.
On November 27, 2025, at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan, Myrna Esguerra was named fourth runner-up at the Miss International 2025 pageant. Representing the Philippines as Binibining Pilipinas International 2024, she competed against global contenders. Colombian model Catalina Duque Abréu was crowned winner by Vietnam's Huỳnh Thị Thanh Thủy, the outgoing Miss International 2024. Indonesia's Melliza Xaviera Yulian placed third runner-up, Bolivia's Paola Guzmán second runner-up, and Zimbabwe's Yollanda Chimbarami first runner-up.
During the coronation night, Esguerra stood out in the introduction segment, using fans gracefully. In the swimsuit competition, she wore a striking blue swimsuit and walked confidently. For the evening gown, she donned a pearl-inspired creation by Filipino designer Mak Tumang, known for Catriona Gray's Miss Universe 2018 gown.
The 24-year-old from Abra holds a bachelor's degree in Tourism Management, specializing in MICE, from City College of Angeles. At Binibining Pilipinas 2024, she won the International crown plus special awards like Best in Swimsuit, Best in Evening Gown, Binibining Air Lines, and Miss Urban Smile, and entered the Top 5 for Best in National Costume.
In an Instagram post, she wrote: “Today marks the end of a long season of waiting patiently, and the start of a dream finally unfolding.” She trained under Aces and Queens with handler Richard Strandz. In preliminaries, she impressed in a white swimsuit and a yellow gown evoking the sun's brightness.
Esguerra's advocacy centers on quality education via Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 17 through her Project Dream Readers. As the only college graduate among 16 siblings, she stated: “Being the only one among my 16 siblings to finish college is one of the proudest and grateful moments of my life... Because I hope to see every [child] stand tall like Mount Fuji...” In the Q&A, she shared: “I will tell to my mama that I just gained 79 more siblings... And above all, it made me a better person..."
This marks the second time the Philippines reached the Top 5, following Nicole Borromeo's fourth runner-up finish in 2023.
