Telugu production house Mythri Movie Makers has partnered with Kannada filmmaker Prashanth Neel to produce an upcoming horror film. The project, directed by Kirtan Nadagouda, features a cast including Surya Raj, Hanu Reddy, and Preethi Pagadala. A pooja ceremony has already taken place, with shooting set to begin soon.
Mythri Movie Makers, a prominent Telugu production house, has announced a collaboration with acclaimed Kannada director Prashanth Neel for a new horror film. The movie will be produced by Mythri and presented by Neel, marking an entry into the horror genre for both. Directing the film is Kirtan Nadagouda, who previously assisted Neel on major projects including KGF (2018 and 2022) and Salaar (2023).
The cast includes Surya Raj, Hanu Reddy, and Preethi Pagadala. Announcing the venture on X, the team shared: "A divine beginning to a scary journey. @MythriOfficial and #PrashanthNeel bring to you a horror film - for those who wish to be scared, and especially those who think they won't. Pooja ceremony held grandly, shoot begins soon."
This partnership builds on Neel's reputation in action cinema. He debuted with the Kannada thriller Ugramm in 2014 and gained pan-India fame with the KGF franchise, where the second installment became the highest-grossing Kannada film, earning over ₹1,000 crore. His 2023 Telugu film Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, starring Prabhas, further expanded his reach.
Mythri, meanwhile, recently produced Pradeep Ranganathan's Tamil film Dude and the Telugu project 8 Vasantalu this year. The company is also set to produce Neel's next film starring Jr NTR, rumored to be titled Dragon and slated for release on June 25, 2026. Actor Prithviraj reportedly confirmed the title in an interview promoting his film Sarzameen, though the production team has neither verified nor refuted it.
The horror film's announcement highlights growing cross-regional collaborations in Indian cinema, blending Neel's directorial flair with Mythri's production expertise.
