Peacock releases first Crystal Lake teaser footage

Peacock released the first footage from its upcoming prequel series Crystal Lake on Monday. The eight-episode show stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees and is set to premiere on October 15.

The teaser shows a group of camp counselors sharing a story around a campfire about a child who drowned the previous summer. It then cuts to Pamela treading water in the lake and screaming her son's name, with quick flashes of a bloody face and a machete.

The official synopsis describes single mother Pam Voorhees struggling with grief after her son Jason's drowning. Two strangers arrive to investigate her past, triggering events that make townspeople question who she really is.

Brad Caleb Kane serves as creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer. The supporting cast includes William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom, with Callum Vinson as young Jason.

Crystal Lake has been in development since a 2022 series order. Bryan Fuller was originally attached as showrunner before stepping down in 2024.
