Poll shows shift in Navarra with Bildu surpassing PSN due to Cerdán scandal

A Sigma Dos poll for EL MUNDO reveals that EH Bildu has surpassed the PSN as the leading force in Navarra, with 20.5% of votes compared to the socialists' 17.5%, who lose 7 points in six months due to the Santos Cerdán corruption case. 53.4% of Navarrese believe María Chivite's government is implicated in the cases. Over 69% demand more explanations and dismissals from the president.

The Sigma Dos electoral poll for EL MUNDO indicates a historic shift in Navarra, where EH Bildu reaches 20.5% of votes and 11 seats, overtaking the PSN which falls to 17.5% and 9-10 seats, a 7-point loss since May 2025. This decline is directly attributed to the corruption scandal led by Santos Cerdán, former PSOE and PSN Organization Secretary, involved in alleged irregularities in public works like the Belate tunnels.

53.4% of respondents believe María Chivite's government is «implicated» in Cerdán's cases, including 30% of socialist voters. Additionally, 69% denounce that Chivite is not providing «sufficient explanations» about the crisis, and 75.6% state that enough political responsibilities have not been assumed, with 60% of PSN voters demanding more actions.

77% believe Cerdán's dealings have damaged the image and trust in the Government of Navarra. In response, Chivite dismissed Public Works Director General Pedro López yesterday over Belate overcosts, a project linked to a UTE with companies owned by Cerdán and his partner Antxon Alonso, which attempted to inflate the contract by 8.5 million euros according to the Audit Office.

Electorally, UPN would lead with 27.5% and 14-15 seats, but the right would not reach a majority. EH Bildu could govern with PSN, Geroa Bai (5 seats), and Contigo Navarra (3) support, while the latter distance themselves from Chivite over lies about Belate. Arnaldo Otegi celebrates the overtake, explained by Cerdán's role in past pacts with Bildu, such as Chivite's 2019 investiture.

49.5% see a political change due to corruption as unlikely, but 44.9% consider it possible, with Bildu replacing the PSN in the current majority.
