Eric Comrie is slated for his second start of the season after Connor Hellebuyck made 25 saves in a 3-0 loss to the Kraken on Thursday, where Hellebuyck allowed one goal with two empty-netters sealing the score. Jets coach Scott Arniel hinted at possible changes due to the back-to-back schedule, noting, "There might be (changes)."
The Jets have trailed 1-0 entering the third period in their last two games and emphasized a strong start. Alex Iafallo said, "We have got to bump it up and make solid plays that will give us momentum going forward each and every shift and hand off the shift to the line behind us. We have to do that tonight."
Gabriel Vilardi, scoreless in seven games, expressed frustration but perspective: "I think at the end of the day, though, there’s flows to the season. And you go through your streaks where it seems like everything’s going in, and then you go through the streaks like this one where it seems like nothing is going in, you can’t catch a break." His last goal was in Game 2 of the playoffs against Dallas.
