Baltazar Gaona García, a PT deputy and head of the directing board, permitted a narcocorrido to be performed during a session at the Michoacán Congress.
The legislator sang the melody 'Se les peló Baltazar' accompanied by Banda Carnavalito from Tarímbaro. The corrido is dedicated to Baltazar Díaz Vega, alias El Balta, linked to the Cártel de Sinaloa.
The act took place despite the state ban on glorifying crime, approved the previous year by the deputies themselves. Gaona García posted the video on social media and later removed it.
Michoacán law penalizes with fines, closures and legal actions any events that promote narcoculture in public spaces.
