Public Art Company debuts installations at Coachella 2026

Public Art Company has introduced new immersive art installations at Coachella 2026 in Indio, California. The works by Sabine Marcelis, Kyriakos Chatziparaskevas, and Los Angeles Design Group respond to the desert environment, providing spaces for rest amid the festival. Curated by Raffi Lehrer and Paul Clemente, the pieces emphasize sensory experiences for visitors.

Public Art Company (PAC), returning as the festival's art provider, planted these installations across the grounds during Weekend 1. The program reflects the shifting light and energies of the Coachella Valley desert, creating moments of stillness between performances, as described by PAC founder Raffi Lehrer and Goldenvoice art director Paul Clemente. Lehrer noted, “What unites them is a shared generosity; each piece is designed to be entered, sat beneath, wandered through, and genuinely felt. We’re curating for the body as much as the eye.” The installations will remain on view through the festival, including Weekend 2 from April 17 to 19. Leading the lineup is Sabine Marcelis' “Maze,” an inflatable structure of soft, canyon-like PVC forms in sunset hues. It filters light and sound by day like a desert mirage and glows as an illuminated oasis at night. Kyriakos Chatziparaskevas' “Starry Eyes” features 40-foot pleated cacti clusters inspired by local barrel cacti, with shaded entry points at the base. Los Angeles Design Group (LADG), led by Andrew Holder and Claus Benjamin Freyinger alongside Stud-IO Construction, created “Visage Brut,” a brutalist tower of geometric boxes on the verge of structural instability, transforming from solid mass to filigree lattice as dusk falls.
