Queen Latifah to host 52nd American Music Awards in Las Vegas

Queen Latifah will host the 52nd American Music Awards on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The event marks her return to the AMA stage 30 years after co-hosting in 1995 with Tom Jones and Lorrie Morgan. The ceremony will air live on CBS and Paramount+ on Memorial Day.

Dick Clark Productions announced that Queen Latifah, a Grammy-winning artist and Oscar-nominated actress, will lead the 52nd American Music Awards. The show, produced by the company, takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the largest venue in the event's history. Tickets are now available through AXS, with nominations set for April 14 and fan voting open until May 8. Last year's 51st AMAs, hosted by Jennifer Lopez, drew over 10 million unique viewers across CBS, Paramount+, MTV, CMT, and BET—the largest audience since 2019. Billie Eilish won seven awards, including Artist of the Year, while Beyoncé took home trophies in country categories for the first time. > “I am so excited to return to the American Music Awards stage to host this year,” Latifah said in a statement. “It’s been an incredible year for music and there is no better place to celebrate than in Vegas.” > “We’re thrilled to welcome Queen Latifah back as host of the American Music Awards,” said Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions. “A true powerhouse and trailblazer, she brings a dynamic presence and deep connection to both fans and fellow artists, making her the perfect choice to lead a night celebrating the biggest names and most defining moments in music.” Latifah, 56, has a storied career, including a 1995 Grammy for 'U.N.I.T.Y.', hosting the Grammys in 2005, and receiving the Kennedy Center Honors in 2023 and the National Medal of the Arts in 2024. She recently received honors alongside Missy Elliott, Steven Spielberg, and Selena Quintanilla.
