Regina Daniels fears for friend's safety after arrest

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has voiced deep concerns for her friend Ann's safety following her arrest amid an ongoing dispute with estranged husband Senator Ned Nwoko. Daniels questions the legality of the arrest and the shifting allegations against her. The incident is part of a broader conflict that surfaced publicly in late 2025.

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels took to Instagram on January 13, 2026, to express her alarm over the arrest of her close friend Ann, which occurred the day before. In a detailed post, she highlighted her fears for Ann's well-being, stating, “My dearest best friend was arrested yesterday. Which makes me wonder: what exactly is the problem with my ex? I hate to believe or further promote the idea of the Nigerian police force’s lack of credibility. I fear for Ann’s safety as all of these are not being done legally.”

This arrest comes amid Daniels' prolonged dispute with Senator Ned Nwoko, her estranged husband. The conflict became public late in 2025 when Daniels accused Nwoko of domestic violence, a claim he has denied. Nwoko has countered by alleging substance abuse on her part, which she firmly rejects. Daniels has pointed to evolving accusations, from domestic violence to drug addiction and now theft. She wrote, “How did a case of domestic violence get overshadowed by drug addiction and now theft? Now that I took a bold step to clear that without fighting him, he comes up with theft?”

Adding to the tension, Daniels mentioned a warrant for her own arrest and that of family members, including her brother Sammy West, over an alleged theft of $40,000 from Nwoko’s residence. She denied keeping cash there and insisted the claims are fabricated to discredit her. Her brother was previously arrested on charges of criminal conspiracy and theft but was granted bail. Daniels questioned Nwoko's motives, asking, “Sen Ned Nwoko, after eventually beating your theft allegations, what else do you have up your sleeve or your red cap? Does this give you climax?”

She also reflected on the senator's apparent enjoyment of public spats, noting, “It is now clear that he enjoys this social media banter or should I say entertainment? But to what end Ned?” As of the report, the Nigeria Police Force has not commented officially on Ann’s arrest or the specific charges.
