The 2025 European League of Football season featured several former NFL players seeking new opportunities in Europe. Among them, Reid Sinnett stood out as the quarterback for the Madrid Bravos, earning the league's MVP award.

Sinnett joined the Bravos after stints with the Buccaneers, Dolphins, Eagles, and Bengals. Described as a smart and accurate passer who excels in timing-based offenses, he became the clear starter and face of the franchise. His performance included almost 4,000 passing yards, 50 passing touchdowns, and just four interceptions, providing instant credibility to the team.

The season also saw other ex-NFL talents contribute significantly. Safety Aaron Maddox, formerly with the Indianapolis Colts, joined the Raiders Tirol and recorded 61 total tackles over 11 games, bringing aggressive tackling and leadership to the defense.

Defensive lineman Thomas Schaffer, who had time with the Chicago Bears, anchored the Vienna Vikings' line with his size, power, and technique. As one of the few Austrian players to reach an NFL roster, Schaffer became a central piece of the team's defensive identity during their playoff run.

Additional former NFL players included running back Sandro Platzgummer with the Frankfurt Galaxy, wide receivers Kennan Cole (Helvetic Mercenaries), Reece Horn and Jeff Cotton (Vienna Vikings and Stuttgart Surge), and others across various teams, highlighting the ELF's appeal as a destination for pros with diverse backgrounds.
