Rufus Wainwright joins lineup for Altadena wildfire benefit concert

The Concert for Altadena has added Rufus Wainwright, Lucius, Lord Huron, and Taboo of Black Eyed Peas to its roster for a January 7, 2026, benefit show supporting victims of last year's Eaton Fire. Organized by Dawes and hosted by John C. Reilly, the event at Pasadena Civic Auditorium aims to aid recovery efforts one year after the devastating blaze. Proceeds will benefit the Altadena Builds Back Foundation.

The Eaton Fire, which ravaged the Altadena region exactly one year prior, claimed 19 lives, forced 100,000 residents to evacuate, and destroyed nearly 9,500 structures. In response, the band Dawes—whose members Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith lost their homes, studio, and recording equipment in the blaze—organized the Concert for Altadena. The event, set for January 7, 2026, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, will be hosted by actor John C. Reilly, an Altadena resident whose home was also completely destroyed.

The expanded lineup includes newly announced performers Rufus Wainwright, Lucius, Lord Huron, and Taboo of Black Eyed Peas, alongside previously revealed artists such as Brandon Flowers of The Killers, Brad Paisley, Eric Krasno, Aloe Blacc, Jackson Browne, Judith Hill, Jenny Lewis, Mandy Moore, Stephen Stills, Everclear, and Ozomatli. Dawes shared their motivation in an October Instagram post: “January 7th marks a year to the day that our sweet town got ravaged by the Eaton Fire. It’s gonna be a heavy night, but it’s going to be a beautiful one too.”

Proceeds from the one-night-only concert will support the Altadena Builds Back Foundation, part of the Pasadena Community Foundation, providing long-term housing recovery, food assistance, interim housing, mental health support, and other relief for affected families. Tickets went on sale November 7, starting at $97, with VIP packages up to $5,200 including meet-and-greets and memorabilia. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the show begins at 6:30 p.m.

This follows Dawes' tribute to the area at the February Grammys, where they performed “I Love L.A.” with Brad Paisley, John Legend, Sheryl Crow, Brittany Howard, and St. Vincent.
