A six-year-old boy died after falling into a septic tank at a house under construction in Kasaragod on Sunday. The incident has raised concerns over the lack of safety measures at the site.
Mohammed Ayan Shasim, a UKG student and son of Ahmed Shajir and Ashyamma, fell into the septic tank while playing near the site at Manchathadukka Darga Road. He was taken to a nearby hospital but could not be saved. His body was later moved to Kasaragod Government General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The area around the under-construction building had no protective barriers or warning signs, despite being used by residents. Reports indicate that basic safety norms were not followed at the location. The death has prompted criticism regarding negligence and the absence of precautions at construction sites in the region.
