Team Vitality's Counter-Strike 2 roster swept the HLTV Awards in 2025, securing Team of the Year and Player of the Year for Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut. The ceremony, held in Serbia, celebrated the team's exceptional season of 30 consecutive wins and multiple major titles. Individual honors highlighted the roster's depth and coaching excellence.
Team Vitality concluded a remarkable 2025 by claiming nearly every major award at the HLTV Awards ceremony in Serbia. The event recognized the French-led organization's dominance in Counter-Strike 2, where they achieved 30 straight victories, nine international titles, and two back-to-back Majors: the BLAST.tv Austin Major in June and the StarLadder Budapest Major in December. This haul also included their first Grand Slam, cementing their place in the game's history.
The awards spanned both panel selections and HLTV's top honors. Panel accolades went to the entire starting lineup and staff: Robin "ropz" Kool as Closer of the Year, William “mezii” Merriman as Anchor of the Year, Dan “apEX” Madesclaire as IGL of the Year, Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut as AWPer of the Year, and coach Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam as Coach of the Year. HLTV crowned Team Vitality as Team of the Year and awarded ZywOo Player of the Year, restoring him to the world number one ranking.
ZywOo's triumph adds to his storied career, including three Major wins with Vitality, three Major MVPs, and 28 total MVP awards. His rankings have never dipped below third place since going pro, with top spots in 2019, 2020, 2023, and now 2025. Earlier in the year, Vitality earned Esports Team of the Year, while ZywOo took Esports PC Player of the Year and Breakthrough Player of the Decade at the Esports Awards. The team also secured Best Esports Team at The Game Awards.
Fabien "Neo" Devide, Vitality's president and co-founder, reflected on the achievement: “2025 belongs to Vitality, and Vitality belongs to Counter-Strike. ... We are here for the long term. Everything we have built has been done with respect, for the game and for our community.” Looking to 2026, the roster remains intact, poised for continued success.
