In an opinion piece, former Director General of the Centre for Air Power Studies, Manmohan Bahadur, emphasized the need for transparency. He urged the Indian Air Force and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) to promptly release the accident investigation report to restore confidence, unlike past confidential reports. Bahadur noted that accidents are inevitable in aviation but stressed that HAL must accelerate deliveries of Tejas Mk1A and Mk2 variants to build capacity alongside capability, countering any negative impressions.
He advised against halting future international displays of the Tejas, affirming the IAF's resilience. 'Trust the Indian Air Force. It will always do what's right for the country,' Bahadur wrote. The crash leaves a grieving family and calls for steps to prevent recurrence, while underscoring the Tejas's role as a future backbone of India's fighter fleet.
