Tinubu tells Northeast leaders economy has stabilised

President Bola Tinubu said on Thursday that economic reforms have stabilised Nigeria's economy and ushered in a golden era.

President Bola Tinubu received a delegation of Northeast stakeholders led by Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum at the State House. The group included governors from Gombe and Yobe states, traditional rulers such as the Shehu of Borno, and other political figures.

Tinubu told the leaders that the economy is already stabilised and the golden era is here now. He urged governors to help Nigerians understand the trajectory of growth and share in its benefits. He also called for sustained unity to fight terrorism and banditry in the region.

Zulum said the visit was to thank Tinubu for re-nominating Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 election. He pledged the Northeast's support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket and commended infrastructure projects including the Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe-Biu-Maiduguri expressway.
