Transport minister: Gilimanuk congestion easing, queues shorten

Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi says vehicle queues at Gilimanuk Port, Bali, are easing from over 20 kilometers to about eight kilometers. Measures like adding ships and optimizing buffer zones are showing results. Collaboration with stakeholders aims to resolve congestion during 2026 Lebaran homecoming rush.

The Ministry of Transportation, along with Korlantas Polri and PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, is working to ease traffic jams leading to Gilimanuk Port, Bali. On Sunday (15/3/2026), vehicle queues stretched over 20 kilometers. During an inspection on Tuesday (17/3/2026), Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi stated the queue length has now reduced to about eight kilometers and is gradually clearing, serving as a lesson to prevent recurrence.
