Travis Bazzana hits first career leadoff home run

Travis Bazzana hit his first career leadoff home run on Friday to give the Cleveland Guardians an early lead.

Bazzana turned on a 95.4 mph sinker from Kumar Rocker. The ball left his bat at 99.1 mph exit velocity and landed in the right-field seats. The homer put Cleveland ahead 1-0 in the series opener. Bazzana has now hit .317 in 11 games since moving into the leadoff spot on May 23. He is batting .357 with a 1.000 OPS in the first inning this season. Bazzana was the top overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft.
