Trevor Breen wins Bolesworth Grand Prix with Highland President

Trevor Breen secured victory in the CSI3* Al Shira’aa Grand Prix at Bolesworth International aboard Highland President. The win marked the horse's first international Grand Prix success and delivered a one-two finish for the Breen brothers. Breen claimed the €17,100 first prize after a decisive jump-off performance.

Trevor Breen piloted Highland President to the top spot in the Grand Prix on June 29. The pair edged out his brother Shane Breen, who finished second aboard Scarteen after posting the first clear round in the jump-off.

Course designer Colm Quinn set a track that produced an exciting jump-off among nine starters. Most incurred four faults at either the double or the penultimate vertical, leaving the Breen brothers to battle for the win.

Trevor Breen noted that Highland President can be difficult to turn in jump-offs but performed well on the day. "He listened and answered all the questions," he said. Shane Breen expressed delight for his younger brother while planning to compete with Scarteen in the four-star event next week.
