Twilight re-release grosses $1.55 million on first day

Fathom Entertainment's re-release of the 2008 film Twilight earned $1.55 million at the box office on its opening Wednesday. The rollout kicks off a week-long celebration of the Twilight saga films for the 20th anniversary of Stephenie Meyer's novel. Subsequent entries in the series, including New Moon, Eclipse, and the two Breaking Dawn parts, are scheduled for the following days.

The re-release of Twilight, the first installment in the Summit/Lionsgate vampire romance saga, posted $1.55 million in ticket sales during its debut on Wednesday, October 30, 2025. It ranked second at the daily box office, trailing Sony/Crunchyroll's Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc, which earned $1.622 million. The original Twilight, directed by Catherine Hardwicke, opened on November 21, 2008, to a three-day domestic gross of $69.6 million, launching stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to global fame. Its lifetime earnings stand at $197 million domestically and $413.7 million worldwide.

Re-Release Schedule

The anniversary event features a staggered rollout of the franchise's films. Following Twilight on Wednesday, Twilight Saga: New Moon screens on Thursday, Twilight Saga: Eclipse on Halloween Friday, October 31, Breaking Dawn Part 1 on Saturday, and Breaking Dawn Part 2 on Sunday. This re-release honors the 20th anniversary of Meyer's novel, which has sold over 160 million copies worldwide and been translated into 49 languages.

The entire Twilight saga has grossed more than $3.3 billion globally, making it one of the most successful young adult properties in film history. Summit Entertainment, bolstered by the series, was acquired by Lionsgate on January 13, 2012, for a reported $412.5 million.
