The inaugural Al Ain Equestrian Festival marks a significant addition to the UAE's sporting calendar, running from February 24 to March 8, 2026, at Al Mubazzarah Al Khadra Park in Al Ain. Patronized by H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the festival highlights the country's deep-rooted equestrian traditions and its role in global horse breeding.

A key component is the three-day Al Shira’aa International Arabian Horse Show, organized by the Emirates Arabian Horse Society. This championship includes 266 purebred Arabian horses, with 27 from abroad and entries from 157 local owners and 22 international ones. Classified as “A” by the European Conference of Arab Horse Organisations (ECAHO), it features male and female qualifying classes along with six Gold Championships. The event underscores the UAE’s leadership in preserving and developing Arabian horse bloodlines.

From March 4 to 8, the Al Shira’aa Show Jumping Championship takes place as a two-star international event (CSI2). It involves 400 horses and 250 participants, further establishing the UAE as a hub for equestrian sports.

Beyond the competitions, a festival village offers heritage-themed platforms, outlets for equestrian equipment, and diverse food options. Visitors can engage in cultural experiences that blend tradition with modern equestrian excellence. The festival reflects national pride in the UAE’s equestrian past and present, fostering interest among future generations.
