Uppsala Municipality launches mobile village offices in rural areas

Uppsala Municipality is introducing a new approach called mobile village offices to improve dialogue with residents in rural areas.

The initiative means municipal officials will visit villages and localities to discuss issues such as service, schools, traffic and care. Residents and businesses can also receive information on plans and submit views on development ideas.

The first visits are scheduled for autumn 2026 with meetings on 24 September, 15 October, 5 November and 3 December. Each meeting runs between 15:00 and 20:00.

Bygderåd and associations can submit expressions of interest to coordinate themes together with the municipality, the county board and the region. The approach follows Uppsala Municipality's Rural Programme.
