Valtteri Bottas auctions first Cadillac F1 helmet from Australian GP

Valtteri Bottas is putting his first race-worn Cadillac Formula 1 helmet up for auction. The Finnish driver wore the helmet during the 2026 season-opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. F1 Authentics, operated by Memento Exclusives, is handling the sale during the Miami GP weekend.

The black and electric blue helmet, described as remarkably unblemished despite race use, became available for bids immediately. As of the latest update, the highest bid stood at £3,900, with estimates ranging from £40,000 to £50,000. The auction will close on May 5 as part of the F1 Authentics Miami GP Auction, the only licensed platform for such items. Cadillac F1 entered the grid as the 11th team this year, marking Bottas's return to a full-time seat after serving as a Mercedes reserve in 2025 following his departure from Sauber. Bottas shared his thoughts on the significance of the piece. 'My race-worn helmet from Melbourne this year. My first ever race for Cadillac [and] my first ever race for GM,' he said. 'A big moment for me, making my return to Formula 1, this piece is something special and now, it could be yours. It will be auctioned by F1 Authentics... during the Miami weekend, so check it out. It’s a really important piece for me and it's going to be amazing to share it with you.' Bottas races alongside Sergio Perez at Cadillac. After the first three rounds, they occupy 19th and 20th in the drivers' standings, ahead only of the two Aston Martin drivers.
