Vytal Group completes acquisition of Chilevisión

Vytal Group has closed the acquisition of Chilevisión from Paramount, including its full portfolio of contents and exhibition rights. The holding, controlled by Tomás Yankelevich, plans to invest in the channel to enhance its leadership through new technologies and agile production models.

Vytal Group announced on Sunday the closing of the acquisition of Chilevisión, an open television channel in Chile previously controlled by Paramount Skydance. The agreement, initially announced in November 2025, includes the entirety of the content portfolio and current rights in sports, entertainment, news, and streaming.

The buyer is a holding controlled by Argentine businessman Tomás Yankelevich, who along with Jorge Carey and Edgar Spielmann will lead the project. In a statement, Vytal Group said: “Chilevisión is much more than a channel: it is a factory of talent, creativity, and emotional connection with millions of people. Our ambition is to enhance that extraordinary human capital with a sustained growth platform, leveraged on new technologies, data, and agile production models, allowing us to create even more relevant, diverse, and emotionally powerful content”.

They added: “We will invest so that Chilevisión continues to strengthen its leadership and its ability to create entertainment that excites and brings audiences together. This acquisition is the first step in a long-term vision that is just beginning”.

The transaction involved financial advisors for Paramount such as Moonvalley Capital, The Raine Group, and G5 Partners, as well as legal advisors in the US and Chile. For Vytal Group, Carey & Co., Bruchou & Funes de Rioja, among others, acted.

In context, Paramount began its exit from Chile on November 14, 2025, with this agreement. On November 24, Red de Televisión Chilevisión S.A. reduced its social capital from $63.233 million to $39.753 million, equivalent to about US$25 million. The channel reported accumulated losses of $13 billion until September 2025, with a negative result of $4.853 million from January to September that year, higher than the $7.050 million in 2024. Press reports mention a total price of about US$30 million, but adjusted for the capital reduction, the buyers would pay less than US$10 million for the shares.
