Wolfgang Van Halen picks Puscifer and Karnivool albums for 2026 excitement

Wolfgang Van Halen has named two upcoming albums as his most anticipated releases for 2026. In an interview with Loudwire, the Mammoth frontman highlighted Puscifer's Normal Isn’t and Karnivool’s In Verses. Both are set for release on February 6, 2026.

Wolfgang Van Halen, frontman of Mammoth, shared his enthusiasm for two forthcoming albums during a recent conversation with Loudwire. He selected Puscifer's Normal Isn’t and Karnivool’s In Verses as the releases he's eager to hear next year.

“I’m really excited about the new Puscifer record, Normal Isn't. I know it's not out yet, but the songs I've heard from that are really, really great,” Van Halen said. For Karnivool, he added, “[And] the new Karnivool record, they just announced a new single. That record doesn't come out until next year either but the three songs that they've released off of In Verses are awesome, I'm very excited about that.”

Both albums are scheduled for February 6, 2026. Puscifer has already shared two tracks: "Self Evident" and "Pendulum." Karnivool has released three: "Drone," "Aozora," and "Opal."

Normal Isn’t marks Puscifer's first album in over five years, following Existential Reckoning in 2020. Van Halen has previously expressed admiration for Maynard James Keenan's projects. The new record features contributions from Tool's Danny Carey, King Crimson's Tony Levin, and Ian Ross. Puscifer will support the release with a 32-date North American tour, beginning March 20, 2026, in Las Vegas and concluding May 14 at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

Van Halen's affinity for these acts dates back; in a past Loudwire feature, he imagined a supergroup with Karnivool's Ian Kenny on vocals and Tool's Danny Carey on drums.

Meanwhile, Mammoth has an extensive 2026 itinerary, including a North American headlining tour in March and April, a European leg in the spring, appearances at Creed and Limp Bizkit's Summer of '99 and Beyond festival, South American shows with Iron Maiden, and additional dates. “I'm very lucky to have an audience now that expects something of me, it's very exciting, especially with the way The End has been received... It's time to just tour like crazy,” Van Halen remarked on the band's plans. Details on Mammoth's new album and tour are available on their official website.
