During New Year's Eve on Avenida Paulista in São Paulo, a woman filed a report against her husband for years of domestic violence. Delegate Valéria Andreza do Nascimento, in charge of the unit, stated: “We registered the complaint and requested an urgent protective measure from the Judiciary.” The Mobile Women's Defense Police Station (DDM) was set up at the site as part of reception and protection efforts during the event, organized by the Municipal Secretariat of Human Rights and Citizenship (SMDHC), including the Não Se Cale protocol for violence victims.

The event featured a 14-hour program with performances by artists like João Gomes, Maiara & Maraisa, and Simone Mendes, who led the countdown. Security measures included 1,950 military police, drones, and facial recognition cameras, plus health posts and accessibility for people with disabilities. Despite forecasted rain, crowds filled the avenue from the afternoon of December 31.
