Bypoll

The Bharatiya Janata Party announced Harshad Parmar, son of late MLA Govind Parmar, as its candidate for the Umreth assembly bypoll in Gujarat on March 30. The bypoll follows Govind Parmar's death on March 6 at age 72 after a brief illness. Polling is scheduled for April 23 by the Election Commission of India.
