Anti-government graffiti proliferates in Cuba despite crackdowns

In Cuba, graffiti against the “dictatorship” and Communist Party keeps appearing in public spaces, despite forensic teams photographing and erasing it before dawn. For the first time, the International Urban Art Festival “Graffiti Session Vol.1” will bring together 40 artists in Cuernavaca to highlight graffiti collectives' work. Organized by artist Néstor Guadarrama, known as Yeer, and the GxP crew, the event is set for November 22 and 23 in the Patios de la Estación neighborhood. It aims to revitalize public spaces through artistic interventions and hip hop-inspired cultural activities.
