US imposes 10% tariff on Indian goods over forced labour

The United States has imposed a 10 per cent tariff on goods imported from India and 16 other countries over forced labour concerns. The move was announced by the US Trade Representative under Section 301 of the Trade Act.
US Ambassador Sergio Gor stated that the US-India trade deal has reached its final stage following prolonged negotiations.
