The 78th Primetime Emmy Award nominations were announced July 8. HBO Max's The Pitt earned the most nods with 25, while Hacks secured 24 and broke the record for a comedy series.
The Pitt and Hacks led all programs. Apple TV received its biggest haul ever with 89 nominations. Hacks surpassed previous single-year comedy records held by The Studio and The Bear.
The ceremony is scheduled for September 14 on NBC at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Mariska Hargitay will host for the first time.
Several first-time performers received nods, including 28 actors such as Brittany Allen and Charlie Hunnam. Freshman series Widow's Bay led with 19 nominations.
HBO's Industry received no nominations despite critical acclaim for its fourth season. Other notable snubs included Jeremy Allen White and The Bear.
