Alaminos City passes ordinance for vendor rent relief

The Alaminos City government approved a three-month relief program deferring rental payments, offering discounts, and waiving fees for vendors affected by the energy crisis.

Alaminos City Ordinance No. 2026-11, known as the 2026 Vendor Incentives Ordinance, states that the continuing effects of the energy crisis have significantly affected local entrepreneurs. The measure suspends stall rental payments for three months, with deferred amounts collected over six months afterward. Stallholders without arrears receive a 50 percent discount, while those with arrears get 20 percent.

The ordinance was passed by the City Council on May 19 and submitted to the Pangasinan Provincial Board on July 20. It was authored by Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Miguel Perez, sponsored by Councilor Dahlia de Leon, and approved by Mayor Arth Brian Celeste.

The incentives apply to vendors in city-managed public markets and tourism areas. For ambulant peddlers, the suspension period runs from September to November.
