Attempted robbery at Daniel Scioli's Villa La Ñata home thwarted

Four armed criminals tried to enter Daniel Scioli's property in the early hours of Wednesday but were spotted by security. Two suspects were detained, one an ex-police officer who had worked as the former governor's custodian.

The incident took place near 3 a.m. on Wednesday in Villa La Ñata, Tigre district. The suspects arrived in a car wearing clown masks and gloves, activated the main gate and covered part of the grounds before being intercepted.

The security team shouted a warning and one of the criminals pointed a 9-millimeter pistol. The assailants gave up, fled in the vehicle and failed to steal anything or reach the main house. No shots were fired and no one was injured.

The case is being handled by prosecutor Cosme Iribarren of the Benavídez Fiscalía. Within 16 hours, two people were detained, including Braian Orona, a former Buenos Aires police officer who had served as Scioli's custodian until 2015. The other two band members remain at large.

Scioli, current secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports of the Nation since July 8, 2026, was not at the property during the attempted robbery.
