Beabadoobee has released a new track called ‘Switchblade’ as the latest preview of her fourth studio album ‘Pylon’. The song was created in a hotel room during a US tour stop.
The laid-back alt-rock number features lyrics that question whether self-defence means being brave. Bea asks in the song: “Do you start the fight or take the flight?”
Beabadoobee described the track’s creation to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, noting its “Midwest emo” influence. She said the song was recorded without recalling the exact US state.
‘Pylon’ is scheduled for release on September 18 through Dirty Hit and Interscope. The album follows the earlier single ‘Sun Has Set’ and includes contributions from several artists.
