Beck has announced his new album Ride Lonesome, his first studio release in seven years. The record is scheduled for September 18 via Capitol Records and includes the new single In the Night.
Beck shared the album on July 15 along with a video for the track In the Night. The video was directed by Mikai Karl and stars Denis Lavant.
The album reunites Beck with musicians from his earlier records including Mutations, Sea Change, and Morning Phase. The group recorded at Room B in United Studios in Hollywood and Nigel Godrich handled mixing.
Beck said the sessions felt like the chemistry had evolved over decades of collaboration. He added that the music found new sounds while revisiting a familiar place.
A North American tour called Lonesome Ride is set to begin September 16 in Vancouver and end October 31 in Nashville.
