Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum shed tears at an APC stakeholders meeting in Maiduguri where the party endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a second term in 2027.
Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State shed tears on Saturday at a meeting of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders at the Government House in Maiduguri, where he sought forgiveness from anyone offended during his administration.
At the same event, Borno APC leaders reaffirmed their support for the joint ticket of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a second term in the 2027 elections. APC National Vice Chairman (North), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, moved the motion for the endorsement, which was seconded by party loyalists and passed with a loud voice vote of 'Ayes'.
Zulum, who emphasized unity and peace during the electioneering process, stated Nigeria had no better ticket to support. 'Power is something that God gives to whom he wishes. No matter how much you dislike a person, if God gives it to him, he will get it,' he said.
Zulum asked several stakeholders, including Deputy Governor Umar Kadafur, Senator Mohammed Ndume, Minister of Agriculture Abubakar Kyari, and Dalori, if he had assisted them over the past seven years; they affirmed he had. State APC Chairman Bello Ayuba noted Zulum's developmental projects have eased campaigns and attracted decampees from other parties waiting to join APC.
