Caroline Svensson not running for regional council again

Regional councillor Caroline Svensson (C) in Norrbotten has chosen not to run for re-election. She has worked as a temporary nurse during her time in office.

Caroline Svensson entered the role of regional councillor after the 2022 election. She had previously worked as an ambulance nurse but became a temporary nurse through her own company because employee conditions were not enough to support a family.

She has spent nearly four years working to reduce costs for hired staff in Region Norrbotten. At the same time she has continued working as a temporary nurse.

Svensson says temporary staffing should exist but in the right context and not as an alternative to regional employment. She is now considering taking permanent employment with the region once conditions improve.

She will not stand for re-election as regional councillor.
