Celsia reports lower revenues and profits in first quarter

Celsia reported revenues of 1.27 trillion pesos in the first quarter of 2026, a 12.4% drop from the prior year. Net income fell 46% to 58.393 billion pesos.

The energy company attributed the decline mainly to its generation segment, which contributed 297.446 billion pesos, down 23.6% from 2025 due to lower spot market prices. Consolidated Ebitda reached 374.124 billion pesos, a 20.7% reduction with a 29.4% margin.

Celsia president Ricardo Sierra noted that rainfall exceeded expectations and affected pool prices for most of the quarter. “We expected a different climate behavior at the start of the year,” he said.

Net debt fell to 4.82 trillion pesos, a reduction of 890 billion from the previous year. The company also announced in April the sale of six small hydroelectric plants in Valle del Cauca to focus on larger-scale assets.
