Charlotte Dujardin boosts World Championships selection at Hartpury

Charlotte Dujardin and Brave Heart II won both the CDI3* Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special at Hartpury with scores of 74.8% and 74.7%. The results have narrowed the race for the fourth British team spot at the World Championships in Aachen.

Dujardin smashed her international personal bests in both tests, lifting her Grand Prix average to 73.16%. This edges her ahead of Fiona Bigwood and Donna Bella, who hold an average of 72.90% but did not compete at Hartpury.

Selectors weigh Grand Prix scores most heavily for team selection. The top three combinations of Carl Hester on Fame, Lottie Fry on Glamourdale and Becky Moody on Jagerbomb remain unchanged.

Dujardin said after the win: “I’m so pleased with Brave Heart. His confidence is really growing in the arena, and I know there is so much more to come.” The British team is due to be confirmed this month.
