Colombian amusement parks industry generates over $1 billion yearly

Colombia’s amusement parks and attractions industry recorded total revenue of US$1.095 billion, marking a 57% increase according to an IAAPA study.

The report from the Global Association for the Attractions Industry covers 25 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. It shows direct revenue reached US$498 million, while indirect and induced impacts added US$597 million.

Colombian parks received 11.2 million visitors, a 45.4% increase from 7.7 million in the previous study. There are now 988 registered attractions, up 13% from before.

Paulina Reyes, vice president and executive director of IAAPA for Latin America and the Caribbean, noted that 45,000 people derive benefits from the operations. She highlighted that the 13% rise in parks is significant and reflects Colombia’s commitment to this industry.
