The Cóndores defeated Romania 48-31 at the National Stadium on July 4, 2026. Matías Garafulic opened the scoring with a penalty at the 10-minute mark and Lucas Berti scored the first try at the 14-minute mark.
Romania briefly tied the score with tries from Adrian Mitu and Stefan Buruiana, but Chile responded with tries from Javier Carrasco and Raimundo Martínez before halftime. The score at the break was 27-17.
In the second half Diego Escobar and Raimundo Martínez added decisive tries. Coach Pablo Lemoine kept the team's structure despite the physical intensity of the match. The next fixtures are against Hong Kong on July 11 and Georgia on July 19.
