Congreso Futuro advisory council holds first session for 'Pensamiento para la Acción' stage

Building on Proyecta Chile 2050's recently launched execution phase, Congreso Futuro's advisory council met for its first session on Tuesday at Chile's Pontificia Universidad Católica. Organized by Congress, universities, and Fundación Encuentros del Futuro, the 'Pensamiento para la Acción' initiative emphasizes turning expert knowledge into public policy through four pillars.

The session united Chile's higher education leaders, legislators, and scientists at UC headquarters. Evolving from a 15-year-old platform, Congreso Futuro now fosters permanent ties among Congress, universities, public sector, and civil society for evidence-based foresight and decisions.

The 'Pensamiento para la Acción' stage features four pillars: reactivating expert working groups, developing concrete solutions, territorial focus, and bolstering public policy influence—directly advancing Proyecta Chile 2050's vision.

"For knowledge to have impact, someone must value it, invest in it, and create conditions to translate it into better laws," said Senate President Paulina Núñez. Universidad de Chile Rector Rosa Devés highlighted the power of this collaboration for national progress.

UC Rector Juan Carlos de la Llera called for prioritizing transformative priorities. Fundación Encuentros del Futuro's Guido Girardi announced an upcoming education summit and a Valparaíso pilot under the Futuros Posibles program. CRUCH Vice President Emilio Rodríguez emphasized regional unity amid global shifts.
