Cork mother and daughter feature in new Virgin Media TV series

A mother-and-daughter team from North Cork will appear in the upcoming Virgin Media series Cleaning Up Ireland. The show highlights the work of sanitation professionals across the country. Sage Cleaning, their family-run business, specializes in eco-friendly services.

Shan and Paige Hill run Sage Cleaning, an all-female company based in Mallow that they started in 2020. The business offers residential, commercial, and deep-clean services, including eco-friendly cleaning and specialist biohazard work. They focus on supporting vulnerable clients with professionalism and discretion.

Cleaning Up Ireland is an eight-part series that explores the efforts of Ireland's 'hygiene heroes.' It covers tasks such as scrubbing toilets, clearing drains, tackling illegal dumping, and controlling rodents. The programme also features pest controllers, online 'cleanfluencers,' and Dublin City Council's street cleaners dealing with overflowing bins and night-time crowds.

In addition to Sage Cleaning, the series includes Ryans Cleaning, a Tipperary-based family business with decades of experience in large-scale event clean-ups, such as at Croke Park and the Galway Races. Sage Cleaning appears in the first and second episodes, showcasing their work transforming homes affected by pets, clutter, and chaos.

The series emphasises the dedication of these teams in restoring order after major events and addressing everyday challenges. Cleaning Up Ireland premieres on Sunday, February 22, at 8:30pm on Virgin Media Play and Virgin Media One.
