Crunchyroll to raise subscription prices in Latin America

Streaming platform Crunchyroll announced a price increase for its Fan and Mega Fan subscription plans, effective from February 2, 2026. The changes will impact countries including Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, with hikes varying by local market. Existing users can choose a discounted annual plan for a limited time.

Crunchyroll, the popular anime streaming platform, has announced an upward adjustment to its monthly membership prices starting February 2, 2026. These changes will appear in billing after March 4, 2026. The move comes as the service expands its catalog, featuring over 2,000 Japanese series and about 50,000 episodes, along with sections for music videos, concerts, and video games.

In Mexico, the Fan plan will rise from 119 Mexican pesos to 129 monthly, while Mega Fan increases from 149 to 159 pesos. In Argentina, Fan goes from 3,499 Argentine pesos to 5,199, and Mega Fan from 4,399 to 6,099. For Chile, Fan shifts from 3,990 Chilean pesos to 5,490, and Mega Fan from 4,990 to 6,490. In Colombia, Fan will be from 12,900 Colombian pesos to 16,900, and Mega Fan from 15,900 to 19,900. In Peru, Fan moves from 15 soles to 19.90, and Mega Fan from 19 to 23.90 soles.

The plans provide distinct benefits: Fan includes ad-supported viewing, full library access, and downloads on one device. Mega Fan removes ads, supports up to four simultaneous devices, HD offline downloads, and access to Crunchyroll Game Vault.

Crunchyroll faces competition from services like Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video, which have also grown their anime offerings. Recently, studio MAPPA, behind series like Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man, revealed a strategic alliance with Netflix for exclusive content. Meanwhile, the platform gears up for the 2026 Anime Awards on May 23, with nominations in April and voting open to fans and a selected jury.
