Cuba and Spain strengthen legal cooperation

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel met with the president of Spain's Association of Administrative Managers to thank them for support in developing legal services in Cuba. The meeting, held at the Palace of the Revolution, highlighted progress in modernization and professional training. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing collaboration despite external obstacles.

On Thursday afternoon at the Palace of the Revolution, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez held a courtesy meeting with Fernando Jesús Santiago Ollero, president of Spain's Association of Administrative Managers. The Minister of Justice, Oscar Silvera Martínez, also attended.

Díaz-Canel thanked the Spanish organization for its support in modernizing equipment and training Cuban professionals through courses and updated bibliography. He emphasized achievements in infrastructure, which are part of the digital transformation process in the legal sector and the digitization of public services, made possible by this cooperation.

He also noted the association's participation in several high-quality international events held in Cuba on various topics. Díaz-Canel reaffirmed Cuba's willingness to continue joint efforts to advance the modernization and improvement of public administration.

For his part, Santiago Ollero reiterated his organization's commitment to cooperating with Cuba, even amid obstacles and pressures from the United States Government aimed at preventing it. "To the extent that we can help," he said, "we will continue to do so, with the clear intention of continuing to develop projects and increase technological collaboration."

Among Santiago Ollero's previous activities in Cuba was his attendance in 2023 at the Third National Symposium on Legal Advice and Business Law, where he was received by Manuel Marrero Cruz, a member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister.
