David Oyelowo has joined the lead cast of the indie film Little Five. He will star opposite Ariana Greenblatt and Rain Spencer in the project from Anne Hathaway’s Somewhere Pictures and Pigasus Pictures.
The announcement came on July 27. Oyelowo will play Randall, a former cycling champion who becomes an unlikely mentor to a group of young women. The film is inspired by the Little 500 cycling race at Indiana University.
Directed by Ian Samuels from a screenplay by Gillian Williams, Little Five follows the women as they challenge tradition and form an unlikely team. Additional cast members include Sasha Frolova as Ingrid, Nadia Alexander as Josie, Drew Powell as Will, and Max Cortezi as TFG.
The film is produced by Zachary Spicer for Pigasus Pictures along with Hathaway, Adam Shulman, and Johnathan Rice for Somewhere Pictures. Oyelowo is known for roles in Selma and Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
