DGT radars collected record 246 million euros in fines during 2025

Traffic radars operated by Spain's Dirección General de Tráfico collected 246.8 million euros in speed fines in 2025, a 14% increase from the prior year, according to a report by the AEA association.

The study by Automovilistas Europeos Asociados details that speed violation revenues account for 41.5% of total traffic fines in Spain, excluding the Basque Country and Catalonia. Out of more than one thousand radars, only fifty concentrated 1,342,285 complaints and generated nearly half the economic impact.

The most active radar was located at kilometer 326 of the A-7 in La Canyada, Valencia, with 90,766 fines. It was followed by the device at kilometer 7 of the CV-905 in Alicante, with 72,557 complaints, and the one at kilometer 127 of the A-15 in Navarra, with 67,445.

The provinces with the highest revenues were Valencia with 18.9 million euros, Madrid with 17.9 million and Cádiz with 16.5 million. The lowest figures were recorded in Ourense with 1.3 million, Cáceres with 1.6 million and Salamanca with 1.8 million.
