Defenseman Hugo Blixt is gradually returning to the ice as he recovers from lingering issues after his first SHL season with Djurgården.
Blixt, 28, has resumed skating sessions at the Ice Academy in Haninge but is not yet participating in all drills. He described recent progress during an interview, noting that he has completed about six ice sessions lately and is increasing his workload. The player dealt with hip-area discomfort throughout the prior campaign, which limited his ice time to 36 of 52 regular-season games at roughly 11 minutes per outing. He began the year outside the lineup and waited through eight or ten contests before earning consistent shifts. Blixt said he felt mentally tested by the slow start but grew into a regular role. He confirmed no loan was considered and expressed optimism about the coming season, citing improved preparation and a deeper roster that includes new signing Lucas Carlsson.
