Ecovacs and Lymow launch new wire-free robot lawn mowers

Ecovacs has introduced the Goat LA3000 and A2000 LiDAR Pro robot lawn mowers, which operate without boundary wires or significant manual setup. Separately, Lymow has opened preorders for the One Plus model, featuring mulching and improved terrain handling. Both models emphasize autonomous navigation and advanced obstacle avoidance.

Robot lawn mowers continue to evolve with wire-free technology, as demonstrated by recent releases from Ecovacs and Lymow.

Ecovacs' Goat LA3000 and A2000 LiDAR Pro use the HoloScope 360 Dual-LiDAR triple-technology navigation system, combining laser scanning and 3D mapping for real-time obstacle avoidance. The company states that setup takes under a minute without external antennas, enabling operation at night and on cloudy days with two-centimeter accuracy. Powered by a 32-volt battery and a dual-blade-disc cutting design, these mowers achieve three times faster mowing. The LA3000 handles yards up to three-fourths of an acre, while the A2000 manages up to half an acre, both tackling inclines up to a 50% grade independently.

A key feature is the AI-powered TruEdge edge trimming, which employs high-speed rotating flexible strings like a weed whacker. An AI camera distinguishes grass from non-grass, navigating curves, fences, and flower beds while avoiding over 200 objects, including hoses, pet toys, garden sheds, and pools.

The LA3000 is priced at $2,499, and the A2000 LiDAR Pro at $1,999, available on the Ecovacs site and Amazon.

Meanwhile, Lymow's One Plus, showcased at CES 2026, offers wire-free navigation via RTK-VSLAM and LySee vision system with a stereo camera for path planning and obstacle avoidance, identifying trees, paths, and fences. It includes a mulching system 2.0 with cyclone airflow to stretch grass blades for cleaner cuts, reinforced SK5 tool steel blades, and a redesigned cutting deck to shred grass, leaves, and debris. The mower features a reinforced automotive-grade chassis, self-cleaning side brushes, improved traction, and tracked treads for stability on uneven terrain and slopes.

Lymow founder and CEO Wangshu Gao says the One Plus has been completely re-engineered to improve performance, durability, and intelligence. It supports small, medium, and large lawns with 5Ah or 10Ah battery options. Preorders are open until March 9 at $2,499 for the 5Ah model (regular $2,999) and $2,699 for the 10Ah (regular $3,199), including $500 off.

Tesla reported a 17% year-over-year decline in European vehicle sales for January 2026, marking the 13th consecutive month of drops, while rival BYD saw a 165% increase. The company faces skepticism over its robotaxi expansion timelines, with prediction markets pricing key milestones as unlikely. Analysts remain divided, with price targets ranging from $25 to $600.

A Segway Navimow executive described the company's new technology as 'literally worry-free' during a discussion on advancing robot lawn mowers. The innovation aims to bring these devices into the mainstream market. LiDAR-powered robot lawn mowers, or lawnbots, were a prominent feature at CES.
