The Radical Civic Union in Buenos Aires province selected its new leadership with a unity list. Emiliano Balbín, a provincial deputy and grandson of Ricardo Balbín, will lead the provincial committee.
The Buenos Aires branch of the Radical Civic Union agreed on a consensus list to avoid a provincial internal fight. Emiliano Balbín will assume the presidency of the provincial committee, with Josefina Mendoza from Evolución as vice president and Matías Cival as general secretary. The treasury went to the sector led by Gustavo Posse.
The choice reflects a balance among different factions, including Balbín’s alignment with Senator Maximiliano Abad. Abad publicly congratulated Balbín and stressed the value of unity for the party.
In several municipalities, however, no consensus was reached and local internal elections will be held. The new leadership will face decisions on alliances ahead of the 2027 legislative elections.
