A group of Argentina national team fans caused a pergola to collapse at a bar in Concepción del Uruguay after climbing onto the structure to celebrate the victory against Switzerland.
The incident occurred on Sunday at the Bella Vista bar, located at the corner of 3 de Febrero and 9 de Julio. Fans were celebrating the national team's advance to the World Cup 2026 semifinals when the weight caused the wooden supports to break and the roof to fall onto the tables.
No fatalities or serious injuries were recorded, only some bruises among customers present at the site. The municipality of Concepción del Uruguay announced it will conduct a technical survey to assess the damage and will clean the area to ensure pedestrian safety.
Local authorities will also examine the responsibilities of the fans involved and are evaluating preventive operations for the team's upcoming matches.
